Vandalism
So last night, April 3, 2008, someone vandalized the skatepark. They graffiti-ed the bowl and put stickers on the concrete. I was reading the Banner Graphic article on it and I started reading the comments the readers have posted. A lot of them were terrible, degrading the kids who attended the park. One person was completely ignorant and outrageous.

"I am extremely embarrassed by [the vandalism in the skatepark] which I [read in the Banner] yesterday. My shame was manifest as I read and reread the lines which proclaimed to all the world that [Greencastle], a [town] of impeccable honor and unimpeachable integrity, ha[s] been slandered and branded in this crude manner by a dark plot which threatens [its] very reputation and standing.
"This astounding implication that [our town's] professional honesty is in question has thrown me into a state of extreme mental anguish and has caused my guardian to initiate proceedings to place me once again in the narcotics sanitarium which was my home for the last five horrible years.
"Should this come about, the responsibility for the disaster would settle heavily on [the degenerates'] shoulders (as one erudite Banner Graphic commentator put it) -- for sending me this hideous little [article] and putting me in the class with the lowest and most odious of all humans -- the [vandalized].
"Let me say in a final desperate plea -- that any [act of vandalism] shall be [punished]. Even though [we are] destitute to the point that [half the community] must accept meals and lodging from charity; that burning zeal and great dedicaiton which carried [us] through “the cure” will once more come to [our] aid in this hour of urgency to cleanse me of this terrifying taint of [graffiti] and restore [Greencastle] to [its] former eminence. Even if I personally must pawn my syringe, I will see to it that this wretched [business] is cleared immediately."
